Metis Timekeeper privacy policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
The short version
- No accounts, no ads, no usage tracking, and no company server.
- Your records are stored on your phone. Metis Dynamics does not receive them.
- Backup to iCloud or Google Drive is optional and goes to your own storage account.
- Crash reports contain technical data only. They are on by default and you can turn them off.
Who we are
Metis Timekeeper is made by Metis Dynamics LLC ("Metis Dynamics", "we", "us"). This policy covers the Metis Timekeeper app for iPhone and Android. The website has its own privacy notice.

Information that stays on your phone
Everything you record in Timekeeper is stored on your device. That includes shifts, start and end times, overtime and the reasons for it, court time, notes, odometer readings and vehicles, your pay rules, your change history, and the time cards and copy sheets the app produces.
The app does not send these records to Metis Dynamics. We operate no server that stores them, so we cannot view, recover or delete them for you.
You do not need an account. The app does not ask for your name, badge or employee number, employer or email address in order to work.
Optional backup to your own cloud storage
If you turn on backup, the app saves a copy of your records to your own iCloud or Google Drive storage. That copy is held by Apple or Google under your account with them, and their privacy policies apply to it. Metis Dynamics cannot access it. You can turn backup off, or delete the backup from your storage account, at any time.
Microphone, voice and photos
Voice entry and Siri
You can start or end a shift, or enter a reading, by speaking. Voice entry uses the speech features built into your phone's operating system, including Siri on iPhone. Depending on your device and its settings, Apple or Google may process your speech under their own privacy policies. Metis Dynamics does not receive your voice recordings.
Photos
You can use a photo to set a time or an odometer reading. The app reads the photo on your device. The photo is not sent to Metis Dynamics.
Location
Timekeeper does not track your location. Mileage comes from the odometer readings you enter, not from GPS.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, a crash report is sent to us so we can find and fix the fault. Crash reports contain technical data only, such as device model, operating system version, app version, the time of the crash and what the app's code was doing when it failed. They do not contain your shifts, notes, mileage or time cards.
Crash reports are on by default. You can turn them off in the app.
Messages you send us
If you email us for support or to report a bug, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it to investigate the problem and to reply. Please do not include case details, other people's personal information or anything confidential to your employer.
What the app does not do
- It does not show advertising.
- It does not track how you use the app.
- It does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- It does not share your records with your employer. What you send to payroll or a supervisor is your decision.
- It does not sell personal information.
Purchases
Free trials, subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes the payment and tells the app whether you have an active plan. We do not receive your card number or billing details.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. The limited information we do receive (crash reports and the messages you send us) is shared only:
- With service providers that help us receive crash reports and email, who may use it only to provide that service to us.
- When the law requires it, such as in response to a valid legal order.
- If the app or the company is transferred to a new owner, in which case this policy continues to apply to information already collected.
How long we keep information
Crash reports are kept for as long as they are useful for fixing and maintaining the app, and then deleted. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and keep reasonable business records. Records on your phone stay there until you delete them or remove the app.
Your choices
- Delete your records in the app, or remove the app, at any time.
- Turn backup on or off, and delete your backup through your iCloud or Google Drive account.
- Turn crash reports off in the app.
- Ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@metisdynamics.io. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local privacy law, and we will honor them.
Children
Metis Timekeeper is a work tool for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
